Magnolia Park has a herd of over 60 alpacas. Our herd is mostly made up of Huacaya alpacas although we have some Suri females and an award-winning Suri stud. We have been able to broaden, and increase the quality of our genetic base by importing animals to add to our mix of high quality NZ bred animals.
The high quality breeding females we have imported have complemented our current breeding program.
Although alpacas produce 22 different types of colours, more than any other animal, our herd mostly consists of fawns, whites and browns.
We have invested considerably into increasing the quality of the progeny our herd produces, and are conciously improving this process through our selective breeding program to ensure a lustruous fiber with a fine micron and high shear weights.
Our herd is not only breeding some magnificent examples, but we have seen a dramatic improvement in the quality of progeny we are currently producing.
